Hello, I’m Hiroshi Naka. I was appointed as an Associate Professor of the Graduate School as of October 1st, 2020. After I had my education at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, The University of Tokyo, in 2006, I started to work as a research associate at the Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tohoku University. In 2008, I moved to the Research Center for Materials Science, Nagoya University, as an assistant professor before coming to the current position in this October.
\nMy research field is organic chemistry and catalysis science. My past research interests include aluminate complexes (at U Tokyo), phosphazene bases (at Tohoku U.), catalytic transfer (de)hydration, and photocatalytic hydrogen-transfer reactions (Nagoya U.). I am very grateful to my previous mentors, Profs. Masanobu Uchiyama (U. Tokyo), Yoshinori Kondo (Tohoku U.), and Ryoji Noyori (Nagoya U.) for their instructive guidance and continuous encouragement.
\nAt Kyoto University, I wish to explore organic chemistry with the aim of making an academic impact on the future pharmaceutical sciences. Specifically, I will address the following two issues: (1) to discover chemical reactions effective in the polymeric scale, and (2) to clarify the impact of deuteration of functional organic materials. Furthermore, I would like to expand my research focus through the interaction with you: I look forward to learning from you and enjoying opportunities to explore new science with you!<\/p>\n
