Biography
Born in 1959. Graduated from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Kyoto University. Withdrew from the doctoral program at the Graduate School of the same university. He served as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor at the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Tokushima University, followed by appointments as Associate Professor and Professor at the Institute for Chemical Research, Kyoto University. Since 2025, he has held his current position.
His research focuses on the design of functional peptides that interact with biological membranes and their application to membrane manipulation and intracellular delivery.
He has received numerous honors, including the Pharmaceutical Society of Japan Award (2020), the Akabori Memorial Award (2022), and the Naito Foundation Scientific Award (2024).

Born in 1994. Graduated from Nagasaki University, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences. Completed the doctoral program at the same graduate school in March 2025. Apr. 2023-Mar. 2025 JSPS Research Fellow (DC2. “Development of gene-loaded artificial exosomes and genome editing for accelerated cancer immunotherapy”). Current position from 2025.
