In a broad sense, all the research currently being conducted in the Department is related to the development of drug delivery systems. However, if we look at the specifics, we can see that there are several aspects to consider: 1) the purposes of the research (development of kinetic analysis methods and theories, development of drug delivery technology, etc.), 2) the target drugs (protein drugs, nucleic acid drugs, small molecular drugs, etc.), 3) the therapeutic targets (cancer, liver injury, etc.), 4) the target kinetic level (whole body, organ, cell), 5) the target site (liver, brain, etc.), 6) the research themes are organized and categorized from various viewpoints, and each research theme is positioned as an intersection of these viewpoints.

Typical examples of these research themes are listed below.

  1. Development of methods for controlling drug disposition and designing drug formulations for the purpose of optimizing treatment
  2. Development of therapeutic methods based on the anti-inflammatory effects of polysaccharide polymers
  3. ADME/Tox prediction using machine learning methods
  4. Development of a targeting system for cellular drugs
  5. Application of MEMS technology to DDS
