Center for Integrative Education in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences

The center is an adjunct facility of the Faculty and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, and was established in April, 2010 as a base unit for the development of integrative education/research in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences. The center consists of three departments: Department of Education for Drug Developmental Sciences, Department of Education for Drug Discovery Sciences, and Department of Education of Clinical Pharmacy. The specialists in the Division of Bioinformatics and Chemical Genomics are in charge of education/research into information sciences. The mission of the Faculty and Graduate School of Pharmaceutical Sciences is to establish a global center for innovative drug discovery and development, and optimization of pharmacotherapy. Through its curricula at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, the school aims to train world leaders in the pharmaceutical sciences. In accordance with this mission, the education programs cover not only the basic sciences, but also specialized sciences associated with industrial drug discovery and development, the theorization of pharmacotherapy theories at medical institutions, and the sciences behind governmental pharmaceutical regulations. The mission of the center is to create an integrated education/research system to meet the recent advances in drug discovery and development, and in pharmacotherapy.
